Resources and Research Information
Some references in this teaching are from the resources mentioned below that were a part of my research. During my teaching, I highlighted those points and want to be sure you can did this out for yourself. In addition, references to the city building process came from multiple resources both modern and historical. Other historical facts are the result of reading biblical and Jewish texts, encyclopedias and commentaries.
- Womanist Midrash by Wilda C. Gafney (Extremely good read!)
- Unsung Heroines of the Hebrew Bible: Stellenbosch University
- Women in Scripture by Carol Meyers
- 1 Chronicles 7:24
- She Built A City by Rev. Dr. Wilda Gafney
- Ancient Cities in the Bible: Biblical Archaeology
Some people argue that SHEERAH built THREE cities instead of two. I hold to the argument that she built TWO cities. The first city had two parts, and the second city was separate. Both arguments have validity, but you get to decide... as it is debatable among theologians. In addition, the time here did not allow me to go into other areas of research concerning SHEERAH, especially as it relates to her lineage and relationship to the daughters of Zalophehad. I will do that at a later date when I teach on "The Scribal Realm of Sheerah."
In the meantime, here are some additional resources that will bless you on your quest to study this on your own.

- Beth-Horan: Biblical Encyclopedia
- Uzzen-Sheerah: Bible Dictionary
