The Cornerstone

The cornerstone of "The Jumpstart" is rooted in following Holy Spirit.

For some prophetic writer's, hearing the Lord's voice is a tremendous struggle in their prophetic growth and development. In The School of the Scribe, we believe that hearing the Lord's voice is as practical as it is spiritual. For this reason, we focus intently on discipleship basics, especially as it relates to maintaining your prophetic writing flow.

Our premise is simple: Pursue sonship with the Lord! This is not revelational, but it is aligning!

John 10:5 KJV, "And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers."

John 10:27-28 KJV, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."

• Sonship is the key and Holy Spirit is our catalyst. We build sonship by making sure that we are always positioned as SHEEP in the Kingdom - lovers of God who long to obey and serve him with our entire being. Obedience clears the way to hearing, and Holy Spirit ensures that we have constant access. So make sure your life magnifies God's heart. Hearing is tied directly to our relationship with God as Sons.
• Strengthen your life in the WORD. The best way to know what the Lord is saying to us is to immerse ourselves in the Word of God. Pour yourself into the book of John, and then walk through the other Gospels. Knowing the voice of the Lord through the scriptures, help you recognize His voice in all other settings. Try reading from different Bible translations. I highly recommend THE MIRROR BIBLE for relationship building. Listen, I don't brag about many Bibles but this one will PLACE SONSHIP in the dead center of your heart.
• Understand that when God speaks, He affirms his Word. This is a critical key. If what you hear does not line up with what Christ has taught us literally, in principle or in concept, then it probably isn't the Lord speaking. With the help of Holy Spirit, we learn to distinguish the voice of the Lord from our voice (which reflects our human nature), the voice of other people (the things peole say over what God says) and the voice of the adversary (ideas and concepts that contradict God's Word or stand as anti-Christ).
• Remember that God DOES NOT CONDEMN us. The Lord CONVICTS and encourages us through the New Covenant. His entire goal is to turn us toward Him, not away. Most of the time, the Lord will reveal His heart toward you and when correction comes, it will come with love, kindness and mercy.
• Purge yourself of multiple voices and theologies. Some prophetic people, read quite a few books with different perspectives. While book reading is helpful, too much of it can cause confusion and internal conflict. I want to encourage you, if you have multiple theologies running through your brain, to ask the Lord to purge you of any information that is useless or harmful. Ask him to clear your heart and mind so you can hear him and apply truth. It is possible to eat too much in the Spirit.
• Hearing the Lord is about entering in and maintaining presence. To be honest, I do not support the theology that "people can teach you to hear God." This is the work of the Spirit. We can, however, learn to maintain the presence of the Lord when He is with us. This requires three simple things: a quiet spirit, patience and a peaceful space. It is not always about having something to say or do. It is important to grow into capturing these intimate moments and residing there in the safe arms of the Father. For some, soft instrumental music can help create an environment to enter in.
