DEFINING THE WRITING PROPHET

The most important lesson from last week was understanding that the "WRITING PROPHET" is not a separate gift from the prophet, and nor is it a special gifting within the Body.

It is also NOT a lesser gifting. Rather, it is PERFECTLY SUITED for the times in which we live. When we began this course, I reminded you that we are living in a "technological aid" where many things are being redefined because of HOW we communicate and the MEANS THROUGH WHICH we communicate.

From the time of Moses to the apostles, the scribes were responsible for preserving and protecting God's Word. They did so with the best technology they had at that time - ORAL HISTORY, STORYTELLING, SONGWRITING & LATER WRITING, RECORDING AND PRESERVING DOCUMENTS. As you've learned, prophets were CRITICAL in preserving and releasing their own prophetic words. They often had the assistance of other scribes. Despite what many believe, it was no unusual for prophetic writers -- like writing prophets - to have scribal assistants as well.

It is also important for you to remember that in the School of the Scribe, we define the writing prophet "as a fully functioning prophet" released under the mantle of Christ's grace who administrates his or her calling primarily through an urgency, command or burning unction to write. The Scribal Anointing® upon the prophet's life not only emerges in written form, but also follows the mandate for what writing produces.

You see, when something is written, it is documented and becomes a record. With diligence, it can be preserved, protected and stand as evidence, proof or a witness of what has been spoken on paper. As a person reads, it goes directly into their hearing as we all tend to HEAR OURSELVES as we read. WORDS also enter the EYE-GATES like pictures, taking snapshots of concepts that are imprinting on our soul and expanding our supernatural sight.

These documents, depending on the type of release, can stand as a witness in generations to come. As writing prophets, we must understand that the Lord LOVES "to be remembered and recalled." We must remember that Christ commanded us to "remember" him.

What is unusual about this specific calling is that the "writing prophet" is distinctly chosen to produce or otherwise administrate written records that have spiritual significance in HEAVEN & IN EARTH.
