Part II: Making Sense of Scribal Ministry

Now that you have completed the exercise from the previous lesson, let's walk through part two. At the end of this exercise, participants should have an idea of where their interest in scribal ministry may fall. They may also see how their varying giftings intersect, and gain a broader view of how much scribal ministry has been a part of their lives.

Review "The Purposes of Prophetic Writing" on pages 38-41 again. While the header says prophetic writing, these areas should be seen as "prophetic writing and scribal ministry."

Then, (1) Meditate on each of the reasons presented and identify what resonates with you most; (2) Choose the reasons that resonate with you above the others; (3) Take the time to explain why each reason speaks to your Spirit; and (4) sit before the Lord in your quiet time and allow him to minister to you.

Finally, circle the reasons you most identify with most. Choose the top three and match them with one or more of the three areas of scribal ministry from the previous lesson. In other words, place them in the categories - administrative, instructional or creative - that best fits your choices. Also, journal about your experiences with this assignment; and discuss how students in your classroom might benefit from this activity.
